SIMPOW - Advanced Course


Course Duration: The duration of the advanced course is 3 days.

Course Goal: The goal of this course is to teach students about the methods used in Simpow computations, the validity of the standard models and to use the debugging tools.

Student Profile: The student will be any personnel working with power system studies.

Prerequisites and Recommendations
The student should have experience of simulations with Simpow prior to attending this course.

Description
This course will teach all attendees about the numerical methods used in dynamic simulations and the solution methods used during power-flow and fault computations. The definitions in Transta and Masta are covered, as well as the validity of the standard models available in Simpow. The course includes exercises for large power systems with convergence problems for training of debugging methods.
